Imagination or just playing with food?

Last night we had roast, potatoes, bread, peas & corn, and cottage cheese with pineapple for dinner. We put the pineapple on top of Ethan's cottage cheese & he decides to make fire with it. He stood the pineapple up in a circle on top of his cottage cheese. Where do these kids come up with these ideas? I wasn't sure whether to punish him for playing with his food or let his imagination run wild. I let his imagination run wild & I might regret it later, but it was a pretty cute idea! Something I never would've thought of.

Big disappointment!

We had our final walk through for our house yesterday. Everything went good, they were going to have everything fixed this morning so we could move in this afternoon after it funded. But we found out there was a miscommunication and our lender "didn't know" we were closing yesterday. We have to close no later than Tuesday, let's hope our lender can get everything together by then! At least we're not homeless & there wasn't a huge rush, it just would've been nice!

Bragging Rights

Since Melissa doesn't have a blog I get to brag about my cute neice. Hailey was born on January 14th. She weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 in. long. Both mom & baby are doing very good. Melissa says she is such a good baby! She's adorable & I have to brag. She's definately come with her own little personality. She's so sweet!

Temple Work

About five years ago a bunch of my cousins and I did baptisms for the dead & confirmations. While I was doing the baptisms I noticed a name that has stuck in my head even til this day: Clifford R. Kearns. It was a woman & I thought it odd a woman named Clifford. During confirmations I was a little worried that I would not also be able to be confirmed for her; but as luck would have it I was able to be confirmed for her as well. Well, I wouldn't say luck I would say the Lord had a hand in it. For some reason I have been called to do this woman's work. I was discussing this situation with my aunt while doing a sealing session on Saturday night & Sunday night she gave me her card to also do her endowments; I thought it would have already been done after all this time. I feel horrible to have had to make her wait this long. This woman has waited since the early 1800's to have her work done for her & I feel blessed to be called to do it for her.

The best big brother!

Ethan had a hard time when Lexi first joined our family. He was jealous of the attention being taken off of him. But he has learned that we love him just as much, if not more than before. He still gets "his" time with mom and dad, but he's learned to share & love Lexi. He looks out for her & makes sure that everyone is nice to her. Lexi in turn loves Ethan & follows him around & tries to do what he does. They have their sibling rivalries, but they love each other & are so cute together.

Eternal Families

How grateful I am for my family! Their love & support & examples. I learn from Ethan how to be patient; I recognize that him asking a million questions in one minute means that he is aware of his surroundings & just wants to understand everything all at once. And even though I get a little annoyed sometimes & am dying for peace and quiet by the end of the day I love him & appreciate his health & strength & his ability to comprehend everything he sees. I'm learning with Lexi as we bond each and every day~she's such a mama's girl. I do get tired of carrying her everywhere, but I appreciate her love for me. It's nice to be needed. And I love seeing her copy her older brother. She's learning so fast to be just like him. I learn from Jeff each & every day how to be happy & to always look at the bright side of things. There's always something to be happy about. What a blessing our families are!

My little Devil!

Lexi is such a joy to our family! She sleeps horrible at night, but we still love her. Thanks to a tip I got I am not rocking her to sleep anymore. (Thanks Stephy!) And she sleeps a little bit better. She is almost 9 months & has taken off walking. She has 6 teeth & loves to play with Ethan & do what he does.

Potty Training

We're getting ready to potty train Ethan. I'm not looking forward to all the work. I am looking forward to changing less diapers! I am in desperate need of tips for potty training boys. I've heard you should train them sitting down; which I'm a big fan of, less mess to clean! All tips are appreciated!
